Clutch advice
#21
Ill give another for marlin even though i havent even used them!
Centerforce freekin screwed me with the last clutch. I wont get into the gorey details but lets jsut say resolving the issue with their defective clutch took over a month and a half and 8 seperate attempts at installation, as well as a lot of my money and time. As far as i am concearned that company's recent products are complete garbage. Especially considering the OE parts i ended up using turned out to be the exact same thing, the only difference is that the centerforce pressureplate was "modified" to produce more holding power, though this in iteslf caused the clutch to not disenguage at all, even with a completely brand new hydraulic train.

I've had one complaint in the distant past, but considering their position at the time they resolved it quickly....and very decently.

Marlin or OEM. My brother has a centerforce in his 85 but I've heard horror stories of them exploding (the mechanism that increase pressure on the clutch when RPM are high can come apart)... In my mind I think the more complex something is the more that can go wrong.
Marlin makes a damn fine clutch that feels OEM and at a DAMN GOOD price. I love mine.
