clickin noise

clickin noise

after coming out water /mud hole the truck will just click when you turn the key .asked some one and he said replace starter we replaced with on from discount auto but still have the same problem.its a 91 pickup with a 3.0

Was it running the entire time? If it died, pull all the plugs, and make sure you didn't hydrolock the engine. Have you tried turning it over by hand?

Its clicking because its trying to turn the engine over, but there is too much resistance.

never died and it never fails that after you stop after coming out of a hole and turn the truck off youll be push starting it. the truck was never hydro locked or nothing like that water doesnt even need to be that deep for it to do it

hmm well i would be looking at an electricl short then, perhaps check fuses and such.

replaced with a starter from napa and it has seemed to fix the prob.went headlight deep the other night a few times and it cranked afterwards

yea i know been fortunate many times.never knew a yota with 14 in wide boggers woulod float.looking into a snorkel though

yea did that as soon as i got the truck.rethreaded the holes to pipe thread and took the easy way out

Grease things well after going in mud and water, Change fluids more often too. Personaly am against the stuff but do understand to get from one place to the other you have to cross em sometimes. Dont mob into them either!

Check your battery teminals too, could be part of the problem
