Chunks of rubber in PS fluid
Little black pieces of rubber are in the bottom of the cup that I drained my PS fluid into. The fluid was frothy, tired to bleed air, tightened all the fittings and tried again. Can't seem to get the frothiness down. I'm assuming that the PS internals are shot and I need to rebuild or get a new one. Although I'm wondering, does the inside of a PS pump actually have rubber o-rings and so forth? I assume so, but I'm not super knowledgeable on the internals of hydraulic pumps.
Thanks

I opened up the PS pump and didn't find any rubber or worn out parts. The steel fins looked good and the o-ring was good. I put it back together and then cleaned the reservoir. Not much crap came out of the reservoir, but after I put it all back together the forthiness went away and the PS pump works good. Chunks of rubber might have actually been part of the hose where it got scuffed when putting the tubing back on the pump previously.

Was it actually rubber, or was it possibly bits of RTV gasket sealer from an overzealous PO trying to repair a leak? Too much of that stuff will tend to break off and float around in the system. Feels rubbery.
