I finished several days ago. When I drove to the local library today, I noticed that the check engine light did not come on during the whole trip. I recall reading last week that the proper seal of the dipstick in the tube is essential for proper operation of the vacuum system.

That check engine light has plagued me for years, but it didn't seem to affect normal operation of the engine.
I'm glad the light is out.
