check engine light help no code id

ok i have a 1995 p/u 22 re and i tryed clearing the cel. disconnected the battery for 10 minutes both terminals. the second i start its back on. the code for it is 2 blinks pause then seven blinks i checked a few times same thing. what does that mean. theres no code for that in my book. help please! anything helpful would be appreciated. thanks

yea whats the code mean tho i dont see what it means anywhere. what kind of malfunction is it

I hope you have a California vehicle. A code 27 is the sub oxygen sensor which is only on CA vehicles. It's the oxygen sensor behind the cat.

sounds like your after cat o2 heater went bad. Disconnect the sensor and check resistance across the two similar color wires usually white or black little or no resistance good, open bad

so o2 sensor then. change the one before or after the cat?

thanks for the fast replies. now is it possible to put some sort of resistor in the connector like how the egr mod is done just curious. this way i dont see that stupid light while im waithing on the sensor.

Nope. But, you could always put a piece of tape or groovy sticker over it.
