Charcoal Canister?

Where do I hook the vacuum hose at the charcoal cannister to on a 95 sr5 pickup 3.0 3vze? Diagram shows it goes to something on the top left corner of intake but there is nothing there on mine. Although I did find a spot behind the intake close to the fire wall with a little blue nose had a piece of vacuum hose on it with a screw in it.

you know what's sad is that I've been working on automotives all my life, and I'm about to ask this question...

what exactly does the charcoal caniser do? what's it's main purpose?

I've always been curious of that, just never bothered to ask

It collects hydro-carbons that would otherwise vent to the atmospere.
Edit: from the fuel tank.

So, do you have a TVV back behind your manifold?
Edit: Don't know if it's in the manifold or the head.

I was just playing around with mine. I noticed that there was a holder bolted into the firewall to secure it into place. It sat just below right (driver side) of the wiper motor. Is the bracket still there? Perhaps the canister was removed.

I just realized I had it hooked up right. After looking at the image zoomed in you can see that the mechanism that the hose goes to is behind the intake. I also color coated them bad boys to make it easier.
