I have a 93 4runner and I just baught a 91 4runner for parts I like the older style front grills that say toyota and I was wondering how hard it was to change them, do you have to change the headlights too because they seem a little different. I would just go take it apart but it is kind of cold and we just got 5inches of snow.

yep hole diff setup id swap out the hole front end them headlights on those 92-95 4runners are junk

 

why do you say they are junk, not as bright, leak or what?
I noticed awhile back when my GF was driving my truck for a week she said the head light was burnt out I went to change the bulb and it was completley exploded like it got wet when hot.

 

MY headlights work just fine....plenty bright...

 

my friends i drove it was like having candles in there was pretty scary stuff

 

the older 91 or the newer 93 cause i did not think my lights were that bad but maybe I have not seen good lights who knows

 

Yes, the traezoidal headlights on the 93+ suck. The beam pattern is horrific. I have the PIAA bulbs in mine, and can still drive with them on highbeam and not get flashed by oncoming traffic... so I drive with the Lightforces on ...

Anyways, my understanding is the whole front end needs to be replaced - core support, corner markers, headlights, and grille - that's why I haven't done it to get some headlights worth a damn, which BTW are Hella VisionPlus ecode.

 

don't know about 4runners, but on my truck, the grille must come off to replace headlights. However the grille really is not that hard to get off (you have to remove all 9? plastic clips though) but replacing the headlights is pretty easy (for a sealed beam headlamp which is what i have).

 

Front grill? How many grills do you have?

To bad your up there I'd trade you, I like the newer one.

 

I just baught a 91 toyota 4runner 4 parts it is missing the motor only and i got it for $200

grille
2 headlamps
2 headlamp bezels
2 side markers (next to headlamps)
bumper
lower valance


headlamps arrive tuesday.
should be completed by thursday.
