Carpet removal in 3rd gen truck

Anyone have any personal experience doing this?
I'm sure it can't be too difficult but I figure if anyone
has done it and wouldn't mind sharing their experiences,
I'd ask. I'm wanting to rip out all of the interior carpeting,
and my buddy is gonna put down a rubber flooring

It took me less than 10 minutes. Took out the bench seat, 4 bolts, unbolted the seatbelts from the floor, pulled up the carpet. I don't even think I had to unscrew the shifter boots from the floor to get it out. I think I also had to remove the kick panels.

I don't have a 3rd gen truck, but i did remove and install new carpet in my 3rd gen 4runner. Remove the kick panels with simple driver, bolts for the seats and seatbelts. I had to remove the center console to get the carpet off the hub. Sounds similar to the advice stated by beaniam, pretty easy took the same amount of time or so.

What about all the carpet that goes up over the rear
storage in the extra cab? That was my biggest consern.

If you are talking about removal, you may have to remove interior body panels. Like in my Runner I had to take the covers off and the panels that mold the rear cargo area..another 20 or so, it's just a bunch of screws and clips--"just work slow" cus you need those clips to hold the panels back in place. i picked up a panel removal tool to ease the job, looked much like a phillips driver with an opening in the center.

Are you replacing carpet? or removing to Rhino-line, he he!?

I sound dampened my whole cab, plus panels and added extra carpet pad for extra hush hush.

I'm gonna dynamat the entire thing and my buddy,
who works for a plastic/rubber company, is gonna hook
me up with some pretty cool rubber matting to do the
whole interior with. I've also got some holes or something
around the front of the truck near the firewall that are
letting in alot of nasty engine noise. I want to patch the
holes and dynamat, rubber flooring, and go from there.

Quick thought related to my post.

Would that 3M canned rubberized undercoating work
for a floor liner? I assume that if it would work,
it'd be less hassle than my original idea. Just don't
know how durable it would be.
