Unhappy cant get it started

i'm having alot of trouble getting my '86 4runner to start. so for ive had to replace the starter, the alternator, spark plugs and wires, battery, and the fuel pump relay. it just turns and turns and sounds like it wants to fire but it just won't. someone please help me, i love my truck dearly and i hate to see it just sit there.

Have you verified that you're getting spark and fuel? Was it turning over before you replaced all these things or was nothing happening at all before? What made you replace the fuel pump relay? When was the fuel filter last replaced? What made you replace the other parts?

Yeah there is most definatly fuel and spark. It wasnt turning over at all until i replaced the starter, alternator, and battery. I replaced the fuel pump relay because i couldnt hear my fuel pump turned on, but once we pulled it out the tank and tested it, it worked fine. once i replaced the fuel pump i could hear it turn on. I replaced the spark plugs just to see if that would change everything, and after a second opinion i replaced the wires. It souned much better after replacing the wires but still no go so now i'm lost, your help is appreciated, thank you.

Well, if you've got fuel and spark, the only things left are air and compression! Timing/timing belt OK? Air filter/intake clogged? Remove the #1 spark plug. Rotate the crank with a socket/breaker bar and watch the distributor rotor - do you feel the puff of air come out the plug hole when the rotor points to #1? Can you get a compression test on it?

well i think i finally found out what the problem is, but i'd like some other opinions. I tested my coils resistance with an ohmmeter and the primary resistance was 0 and the second resistance was 12,400 ohms. Chilton's said the primary resistance should be between 0.5-0.7. I take that as a sign that the coil is bad, am i right?
