With what you described up above with the light it sounds like a ground issue. Did you check all the grounds? Actually you just put in this motor correct? Did it ever run after the swap? I am to lazy to reread it but I would definitely check all the grounds. Just another thought.

Yeah ive checked all the grounds. And it hasnt started since ive replaced the motor. Is it even possible for a sensor or something as big as the ecu to fail after just sitting for a couple months? I mean all i did was swap the long block out. Put everything besides the long block from the old motor onto the new motor, made sure to hook up every single wire and connector and everything off the engine wiring harness back up and it wont start... i havent tried another maf sensor yet but i just dont think a sensor like that would just go bad after just sitting for a while. But if there is anyone reading this who has a 3vze it would be helpful i think to disconnect your maf sensor real quick and check to see if your getting any spark. That would at least give us another idea.

Funny things happen when stuff sits around. It is possible that the ECU is bad but I thought you said you ran it in another rig and it ran fine. I don't have the schematic in front of me but I am pretty sure the ignitor gets it signal from the ECU. If you haven't checked the wire to the ignitor for a signal when cranking that is where I would start. I do know that the maf also has a connection that needs to be made for the fuel pump to run so it is possible I guess and once again I don't have the prints to look there might be an inhibit in the circuit, worth checking out though.

Thanks William! After 3 weeks of tracing wires I unplugged the VAF last night at it fired right up. Took the plastic plate off the top of the VAF and found that one of the foil wires had broken and was crossed over. Straightend them out and it runs great.

Note to everyone, if you are not getting spark from the coil, unplug your VAF before you buy any new parts!
