HAHAHA.

So would the schedule 40 fittings be alright with the heat in the engine compartment?

Is it possible? Yes.
Would I trust it / Would I use it as a sealant? Only for a permanent repair. Meaning: if you have a problem with the pcv fitting, it is likely not going to come out without breaking.

yeah... once its on i hope it wont have to come off for a while. in only asking because i dont think the aluminum tailpipe will be thick enough to tap threads and hold the fitting securely enough.

Absolutely. The primary difference between schedule 40 and 80 (and 120) is the wall thickness and has little to do with temperature ratings (unless you're dealing with electrical wiring) or pressure rating (unless you're dealing with high-pressure gas or liquids).

Yea, sounds right. Do you have the link that has the full install write up?

Here it is if you dont.

Heres mine:

*picture down*

I simply went down to the local exhaust shop, had them bend me a tube. Went to the hardware store and got two straight barbed (brass) fittings. I forget the size sorry. You can get the barb and the threads in different sizes.

I also got two rubber hose clamps. Baisicly a 3x3" long peice of rubber, with a band of aluminum around it with two hose clamps. I obviously removed the metal.

To install just drill the holes for the fittings, tap, apply sealant to threads and install. These things are not under THAT much force, no need for a nut... if that nut came off and got sucked into your TB....

BTW - Mine cost:

$10 - exhaust tube
$10 - fittings and band clamps.
$0 - 2 coats of hi-temp black pain I had laying around

And I paid too much.... The best thing about this mod as it can look good and be cheap!

yeah it was the same link as the one above mine...his is the correct one. ive seen that done before and heard good things....i just want to make my own because blu's is so clean and black. i might end up buying the prefitted chrome one because making one is no longer cheap.(good fittings are too expensive) i cant make my mind up if i want to go with the pvc and make my own or put up another $50 and order that off summit.....
