Well I think I blew the motor on my 4runner. Very bad knocking noises and now it wont even start now( i think the starter is shot too). My co worker is selling a 22r motor he had in an 87 or 88 4runner or pickup. Could I re use the block and rebuild it with new parts from engbldr and re use my EFI? Any help is appreciated guys, im kinda really bummed since today I was supposed to be making a really fun snow run.

I work at a napa auto parts store and my parents own a shop, I have the resources, but most of the knowledge I get from here.

Co worker is selling the motor for 200 bucks, and he said it ran good when he pulled it. Again, any input is awesome. Even if only the block is reuseable, its a great starting point to rebuild it.

Or maybe the the whole thing is compatible and I can just drop the used motor in and rebuild mine?
