What is this (RED ARROW AND CIRCLE)? I assume it's an A/C VSV...

Can it be deleted simply by looping the vacuum lines as illustrated with the BLUE arrows?

The black cylinder filter apparently fell off and is resulting in an audible hiss. It seems to be constantly sucking air. Probably not great without a filter.

You can delete it but if you use the ac then fix it. Your idle will be crap low without it and the ac running.

I also don't think it should be sucking air unless the ac is on

 

But.... I don't wanna. My A/c doesn't work and I can remove the top...

Right. That's why I assumed it was bad. I ordered one through toyotapartsoverstock. I'll delete it until I get it.
