can 2 injecors go at once, or is it somehting else?

my truck recently began running rough (89 4x4 truck, 3 litre). i changed the distributor, spark plugs and wires, no help. i then checked the timing, it was right on. i have discovered the #3 and # 6 cylinders are not firing, they do have spark for sure. the compression was good (170psi). this leads me to believe it is the injectors (which did show a pulse and with a stethoscope i can hear them working). it seems unlikely to me but is it possible for 2 injectors to clog at the same time/ or is it somehtjing else like my ECU or anouther electrical system. ????

It's not your ECU. Your injectors are batch fired. All six have power to them all the time, the ECU completes the ground circuit on the injector when it wants them to fire.1,3 and 5 fire at the same time through the wire on terminal #10 of the ECU and 2,4 and 6 fire at the same time through the wire on terminal #20 of the ECU. I know that you said that you checked them with a stethoscope, but there are a lot of noises in an engine and sound is sometimes hard to pinpoint, but if you are sure they are firing then that rules out broken wires at the injector. If you are not 100% sure then if I were you I'd check the firing voltage with a voltmeter. If some crud made it past your fuel filter they could be plugged but it is weird that only 3 & 6 are affected. They are the last injectors on each bank. coincidence? maybe!

I'd definitely go the new o-ring/seal route, but You have to remember that all o-rings are not created equal. Injector o-rings have to withstand oil, gasoline and heat. Not only do you have to match the size across, but the diameter of the o-ring material. $10.00 per kit is pretty pricey. I've got a new o-ring kit from Doctor Injector for my 22RTE, it was $19.00 plus shiping. I live close to the N.B / Maine border and I don't ship to Canada and I pickup my parcels in Maine and pay the taxes when I bring them across, Shipping for me was $6.00. I don't know how close you are to Washington, but these guys have several locations in Washington state and they ship out of Federal Way, Washington.
If you are able to go the E-bay route, they have an auction right now for an injector kit for a 3vze. Item number is 310135444226. These kits include oem nitrile o-rings, hi flow finters and new seals. Shipping to Canada may be 5-10 dollars increase plus there may be brokerage fees at the post office, but even if it's $40.00 considering the parts that you get, it's a good deal, because I've bought NAPA kits before and they don't include the filters. Hope this helps.
