camber in front two wheels WAY off
i am new to this forum so my apologies if this thread is misplaced. with that said, my problem is that i have all kinds of negative camber in my front wheels. more so in the front right. im not sure what parts i need to change and i dont ahve a whole lot of money to spend on things that are not the issue. there was alot of play in the wheel when i pulled on it away from the body so my first thought was to replace the bearing. i replaced the outer, and when i re assembled it was closer to the angle it needs to be but its still off. my next thought is the pitman, but i dont know how to tell... any ideas?

They camber and caster are adjusted by the bolts that hold the lower control arms on. They're eccentric, and have gauge type markings on the washers at each end to use as a reference point for setting the camber and caster. All you need are the appropriate sized sockets to adjust them after loosening the nuts. Camber is set by moving the lower control arms in or out in relation to the frame. Caster in the difference between the settings of the front and rear bolts.

the one place in my town capable of allignments told me they could not allign it because the 'cams' are too far off. i got the feeling he didnt want to mess with it and fed me some bs to make me go away, but i have no idea what 'cams' he is referring to?
as a side note, i thought about taking it 40 miles to the city for a second opinion, but im trying to avoid destroying the tires because of the angle they sit. ironic.

The "cams" are the cam washers on the ends of the bolts. Them being "too far off", is a meaningless statement. If they aren't positioned correctly, then make them so. That's why they're adjustable. That dude's a moron, who's obviously never aligned a 4WD Toyota truck before.
BTW, setting the camber can be done by eye, to get them as close as they need to be. I'd suggest you give it a try, it's very easy. The caster on these trucks isn't a cause for concern, just get the camber as close to 0° as you can. The specs are -1/12° to +1 5/12°, preferably +2/3°, which is nearly 0°.
Here's the instructions on how to make the adjustments: http://personal.utulsa.edu/~nathan-b...axle/2-4wd.pdf

awesome man. thanks for the info. i knew that dude was giving me a run around. so you say the cams are the washers at the end of the bolts, so then ive adjusted the front right when i replaced the wheel bearing because i removed it / re assembled it just to get to the bearing, unless im mistaken. (it was actually backed off the bearing quite a bit).
after reviewing that posted site im going to give it a shot adjusting them; thanks for the specs.

The alignment cams are down under the truck on the pivot points for the front suspension control arms, not the nuts/washers on the outside of the wheel bearings.

I've assumed you know all about setting your toe too. Because any fooling with the camber could alter that as well. Causing the need to reset the toe. Toe being the more important of the two, I feel I should atleast mention it.
