coolent should be ok.. gauge on the dash is in range.. scan tool said it was up to temp but i dont remember the number our head mechanic said it was at.. but all the hoses are at equal temps.. the lower that goes to the T-stat. the upper.. and also heatercore lines..
i never thought to try and manually close the throttle when its acting up?? ill give it a shot next time it acts up..

get some spray white lit grease and spray the tb cable down this is the same thing that happened to my old honda i had and my buddys honda just spray it up move the cable and spray again then under dash and spray spray spray

 

hmmm I seem to remember hearing about cleaning a spring in the MAF sensor ..... anyone remember that? it has to do with throttle position or something ... I'll try to find it

Ive had several 3.0's do this and I have found the throttle more or less sticks open a bit. One culprit I have found is the little dashpot to the left of the tbody(as you are looking down the throat). There is a very small adj screw that contacts the dashpot when you let off the gas. I have been able to de-adjust this screw back sometimes quite a bit to fix this problem. I would be willing to bet your problem is in your throttle body and not any of your sensors or any vac leaks

 

well everyone. i was on here for a while and doing some searching with the word "idle" came across a few threads about bad EGR's.. so i took a lipton brisk iced tea can.. cut it up and made a gasket.. blocked off my EGR and it hasent been a problem all day.. im kinda pumped cuz i have no vibration at idle.. it seems to have more power and throttle response.. well see if it comes back but i think i may have this one licked..

i have the same problem with my '90 SR5 3vze and it is the throttle body as some one already mentioned the you need to check your clearence between the trottle and the dashpot adjuster sometimes it stick's the best thing to do is lube the throttle cable and check the adjustments with feeler gauges. well ive been doing alot of reading and it seems that alot of you guys are doing the egr mod i guess ill give it a try also
