I went to a local pick and pull today to try and find a few goodies.

I needed an ac idle up vsv but the only vsv i could find is from a pickup .

Part number 90910-12084 it is brown.

The one from my truck is 084600-7170

I assume since they are both basic solenoids then i should be able to wire it up. However i don't know what resistance the original vsv was.
This one is 340 ohms.

If anyone can tell me if they are all interchangeable or the resistance of the factory vsv or if this particular one could damage anything. Thanks


EDIT: found answer, factory vsv should read about 50 ohms. so this one is either bad (340 ohms) or will not work properly.

 

Have you tested your one found at the Yard?/

The resistance your measuring is the coil it either opens with the application of @ 12vdc or it does not.

One must remember that information in Toyota FSM is for the parts used in the vehicle as built .

So different parts even from Toyota from different years while doing the same job will give different readings even when working just fine.

 

You were correct. I wired the vsv from the yard with some old pins from a Honda ecu connector to the vsv and applied voltage. It took two or three taps then it clicked.

Now it clicks every time and resistance dropped from 340 to 40 ohm. No telling how long that thing sat and how dirty those connections were.

Will give it a shot with the ac today.
