A/C fuse blows

After the 3.4 swap, the fuse will blow.Mike's at ORS harness, proffesionally installed by,your's truly.Compressor can be plugged in or not,it still blows the fuse.I have not tried a larger fuse,it will wait untill you mash the gas to blow.Anyone? It's 100 degrees way down here.

It doesn't blow till you hit the gas?

This sounds like the compressor clutch is rubbing against it's self shorting out. Don't install a bigger fuse or you will start to burn wires.

Doh, didn't read this. Try another amplifier and inspect the wiring for a short, my personal method is a headlamp soldered on the back of a blow fuse, bright light=short, light out=found your problem.

You can unplug the evap pressure and the evap temp and it will not blow.Or you can unplug the a/c exciter and it wont blow.I'm thinking the exciter.I have another out of a 89 pickup I'll try and let you know.

The other amplifier does the same thing.Evidently one of the wires in the aftermarket harness is crossed.Hope not,I've bragged on ORS so much.Although anyone can make a mistake.BTW I called ORS and got no answer.I guess they were closed.

Evidently nobody has had this problem,Murphy's Law.Anyway the wire from the amplifier to the comp. was grounded rather well.I didn't bother finding out why.I ran a new wire, and fixed the problem. It only costed me the spare amp and some time.It now works as new.Thanx
