Buying a reman 22 RE

Can someone give me a good source to buy a reman 22Re motor? Also, what type power steering fluid does my 86 use?

I just bought one from Oregon Engines and have been very pleased so far. I am still working on the truck but it does start and run very nicely. Now if I could just get my clutch problem worked out.....

x2 on Oregon Engines. I have heard nothing but great things about them. Though I have never purchased anything from them (YET) I emailed them yesterday with some questions and they answered them quickly..

Dunno about the PS fluid though. I would think that a quality fluid from NAPA would work fine...

When I bought my '87 it had a reman 22re with 10k on it when I got it. It runs like a champ. The company he got it from was "SunWest Automotive Engine" all I have for them is an address and #, their # is 509-299-3200.

your 86(and most Toyota trucks from what is now "the old days")uses Automatic Transmission Fluid--ATF-- of the type called "Dexron"...you'll find Dexron 3 and Dexron 4 currently. All are supposedly fine.

what? is new ATF not called ATF anymore? Everything i have bought in the past year for my 96 has been titled ATF... did they change the name for newer vehicles? maybe add some kind of complicated chemical that keeps people from changing it themselves?

most atf is mercon/dexron compatable. mercon = ford, dexron = gm. When you buy stuff thats just labeled atf its usually just mercon/dexron III

I think he means that it takes ATF instead of 'Power Steering Fluid', not that they started calling ATF something else.
