buying another yota

I am buying a second yota today. I looked at it last night its a 92 extra cab 4wd with a brand new 22re(5K miles) and new automatic tranny. The body has 240k on it but with the new motor and tranny I'm ok with that plus I'm getting it for $2500 which seems like a good deal to me. Its also got a header, head ache rack and a smitty built front bumper. The interior is pretty thrashed but I can fix it up pretty easy. Think its a good deal?

depending on what part of the country you are in, that is a great deal...I would just inspect the rest of the drivetrain (rear axles etc)..normal stuff on an old truck. Congrats on finding a great deal

I'm not worried about the axels because I have a whole rear end at my house and front ends are easy to come by..... Any one know what ECT or something with these letters is? It had a button on it that said that and I couldnt figure out what it was.... It also has working cruise control and bucket seats.

ECT = Electronic Controlled Transmission

good find! If there is something wrong with the drivetrain you could talk the guy down a bit.

The deal fell through because it didnt pass smog and on top of it he didnt have the papers to prove that the motor and tranny were rebuilt. They looked really clean but that dont mean .

dam that sucks

I would just talk him down some more, and use the savings to rebuild the motor yourself and swap a tranny in.

And when you are bargaining down the car, completely nag at all the defects, even if you dgaf, cuz that dent that you are never gonna worry about could save you $100.

And while im thinking about it, nag him at the fact that its got 240k miles. Anything to sink the price.
