Burning Oil
hello...ive been a memeber on here for awhile but first time posting. But anyways i got a 95' 4runner 3vze (2011433 miles) 3 months ago and LOVE IT it.
but the only problem ive had so far is burning oil, and i was curious if there was anything to prevent that or am i just going to have to deal with it.

its around 2 quarts, i have driven it quite a bit, i just noticed this problem the other day. And ever sine ive watched it and hasent notied any lose over the few days, but i did notice black in the exhaust tip which i was told was from burning oil. And i did change the oil the day after i had gottenit with 10w-30, and also changed the oil filter.

what kind of oil do you use? what weight?
if i use the crappy flamingo 5w20 bulk crap from my work, my truck burns it bad. but if i use good oil, it doesn't burn it nearly as bad or as fast. i only use that crap if i have to, like the other day... i checked my oil at work and it was at the "add 1 quart" line, and i didn't have anything else.
try changing your oil. if you recently changed it, do it again with either a better brand, or a heavier weight. i found 10w40 to work pretty good.
maybe try using a quart of lucas heavy duty oil stabilizer. either substitute it with a quart when you change your oil, or use it to top off low oil.
