I was trying to back into my driveway spot tonight to avoid having to walk through about 3 feet of snow in $100 dress shoes. My idiot landlord did a horrible job of removing snow while I was in D.C.

Needless to say I got about half-way in the driveway and couldn't go any further so I had to get out and lock my hubs in. I yanked on the e-brake cable a little hard because I was pissed off and it broke. I managed to get the truck up the driveway but the brake is stuck in the "ON" position no matter where the handle is. What the hell do I do?

crawl under there in your $100 dress shoes and remove the cable pin at one of the rear axles until you can get it fixed. It will release both sides. Be sure to tie it up and out of the way!

I appreciate the advice. What kind of pin is this? Will it just pull out or will I have to drive it out? Is it threaded?

It's just a straight pin with a small clip. Pull the clip and the pin will slide out.

youl just half to tap the pin out with a screw driver after you remove the clip i had to do the same thing to my rig cuz mine just wouldn't release. is yours auto or stick?

It's stick. The wife and I went out of town so I still haven't tackled this. I'm gonna hit it in a few minutes I think.

It's also slang for fornicating with a woman as in "I'd hit that"



I got mine all ready for the road. The handle had to be forced forward into the dash which made the light go off. I crawled under the truck to make sure the brake was disengaged. It was. The cable broke at the point where it attaches to the spring loaded arm to the right and slightly behind the transfer case. I'm wondering if I can make this baby work again by attaching a small piece of cable to that arm at the normal location and cable clamping onto the old cable. I'm in college and my budget is always tight. Basically I just need to make this truck last until December.
