Breathers

Hmm. Must be different on different engines. Mine was a breeze. 22re.
I didn't really care for the cap removal idea, so I went with the toyota barbed hose fittings. I've heard the cap removal works just fine, but I didn't trust it.

I did my front breather today. Very easy to do. Drop the front skid plate and the breather is right there in front of you (looks like a black cap on the driver's side on the front of the diff). Unscrew it and put on a Nissan breather (Nissan part # 38323-C6010). It threads into the existing hole for the Toyota breather. Attach 3' of rubber hose (1/4" or 3/16" I think- just what ever fits over the Nissan breather, fuel/ vacuum line- what ever). Tighten a small hose clamp over the breather. I bent the breather a little to the passenger's side in order to have the hose clear the oil pan. I used a zap strap to secure the other end of the breather hose to the charcoal canister bracket. On the top end of the hose, insert the original Toyota breather. It is a tight fit, I used a lighter to heat up the breather then jammed it in. Secure with another hose clamp.
There you go. The whole procedure took 15 min and I ran into no issues.
