lemme get this straight... did anyone NOT USE the old wire that was connected to the alternator?
my wiring diagram, shows (IIRC) an 80 amp fusible ink and that is connected to the starter. another wire runs from the starter to the pos batt terminal.
my plan was to get a 4 gauge wire. insert a 100 amp fuse and connect that directly to the pos batt terminal.
the old connector (from the alt) will just be tied off securely...

X2...working good. I up graded the wire (added another one but still use the old one too) and used the same fuses. Just because the alt will put out more amps doesn't mean the trucks body harness will use more amps. Most of my additional loads are wired straight to the battery bypassing the truck's body harness.

Good job man....I called 2/22/2010 and i got quoted AES 140amp $120 bucks for 3vze for my 93 3.0 4runner. that's alot cheaper than Boyle...and i still have by stock alternator....
Anyone got any pictures of these AES alternators? I'm about 1-2 months from upgrading this but i like to do as much homework as possible.

Did you have any issues with getting the right connector for the back of it? Toyota shipped a lot of different connectors in the wiring harness over the years.
A red pulley? I will have to pull out the flat black rattle can for that one.
Thanks for posting,
Mike

Well since I was going from a 84 alt, yeah I had issues. I went to salvage yard to get my bracket and wiring, first 22re the guy brought me to had the right wiring.

Mine is also working fantastic. It charges much nicer than the stock. My battery power gauge is always pegged much higher after I started using the Boyle. No issues running subwoofer, amp, inverter, GPS, Winch, PIAA 520s and ARB Fridge.

Having an intermittent alternator light on situation. When I tap the alternator bolt gently with a hammer, it goes away for a while. Bad ground, maybe?
Other than that, charges like a CHAMP~
EDIT: The intermittent problem has become a constant one: https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f116...-issue-222715/
