Haynes Repair manual is best; find it on Amazon cheap.
This is your new best friend: http://personal.utulsa.edu/~nathan-buchanan/93fsm/
That is the online service manual, pretty similar to the Haynes, but much more accessible to a lot of people.
For $1000, you've got a solid looking truck and a great parts truck.. Better deal than I've seen in a while. Be sure to search the mess out of this forum and google in general; most, if not all questions you have have probably been answered before. If you can't get your search to work correctly on Yotatech, try typing in your search plus Yotatech next to it in the google search.. ( i.e. head gasket replacement 3vze yotatech)
Good luck with your truck(s), and most importantly, keep us updated!

nice score. as far as the service manual theirs a guy on here with a link to the fsm can't remember his username ill keep an eye out for that link and let u know.
the haines or chilton manuals are good for basic repairs but beyond that you gotta have the fsm makes life much easier.

Knock sensor, if malfunctioning, should give off the check engine light. Learn how to read and diagnose the code. The sensor just regulates when combustion occurs (basically), so if the truck starts and there's a loud pop consistently in the bottom of the engine, the sensor may be at fault. Try running a higher grade fuel or a fuel cleaner (Lucas Oil or similar) to possibly cleanse the sensor.. If the knocking gets significantly quieter after that, I'd be looking into replacing the knock sensor.

Thanks Duke ! He parked the truck 9 years ago ! The oil looks clean as does the coolant so, I figure drain the fuel tank, add a little mystery oil down each plug hole let it sit a day then throw a battery in her and give it a whirl ? Is the fuel pump in the gas tank ? Any other suggestions ?

The fuel pump is located in the gas tank.. Depending on your situation and space, removing the bed is typically the easiest way of getting to it. As for the mystery oil, you shouldn't have to drain the fuel or oil, just let it run all together. And as an alternative to that, have you heard of SeaFoam? The stuff works wonders..
