bottom shock mount help

howdy im new to this,i have a 87 4x4 pickup, my left bottom shock nut fell off and my shock hammered the bottom bolt up and down in bolt mount and this coused the mounting hole to become larger and no matter how tight the bolt is it still moves up and down allowing the shock to move around, is there a sleeve or something i can do to correct this problem???, thanks for any help

I'm assuming that you're talking about the front shock, like in the picture below.

If the hole in the metal mount actually got wallowed out then you'd either need to cut it off and weld a new one on, or you might be able to source a new, larger bolt.

If it is just the lower shock bushing then it's an easy fix. My bushings used to always wear out and the shock would rattle around. I replaced the cheap rubber bushings with urethane ones and the problem was solved.

I dont know if this would work, but you could get a flanged steel bushing from Mcmaster carr, and push them in the larger holes from the inside. You would have to ream the holes to the size of available bushing's outside diameter. Other than that the larger bolt is probably simpler.

Weld a washer to the outside of the mount (both sides) that's the correct diameter (hole)...
