body lift issue
God I hate to ask this.......
Have any of you that put a 1 or 2 inch body lift on your truck had any issues with steering linkages or brake/clutch lines? I ask because I don't think I'll ever be able to afford the SAS and have resigned myself to doing a Ball Joint/rear coils and body lift.
So sad.

Nope... With that amount of lift, you shouldnt have any issues at all. With my 3" kit I needed to install a steering spacer, but you should have enough slack. No issues with brake/clutch/fuel lines

That really settles my mind, thanks.
One more then I'll stop. Did you have to relocate the bumpers? I have Marlin Crawlers front and rear and don't really have a way to fab up some relocation plates for them.
Thanks again.

you should realistically have no problem with a 2" body lift, other than maybe needing a new firewall bracket for the steering column to accomodate the modified steering shaft angle, and maybe spacers or bushings for the floor shifting mechanism.
and the lift kits should come with bumper and radiator relocation hardware too.

You'll be fine, I had to get a longer fuel line to my carburator though cause I was dumping gasoline all over my exhaust manifold when I started it, pretty cool huh? Too bad performance accessories didn't mention that.. If it was me I'd do Chevy 63's in the rear and BJ Spacers, and cranked T-bars for 3" of lift instead of a body lift, I HAVE a bodylift, it ain't bad, I like it, but I wouldn't do one again. Dont get me wrong theres nothin wrong with 'em just the chevys and BJ spacers=betta flex and height.. But it depends on your budget too.. Just get a 3" BL and be done with it if you don't wanna fabricate..

I had to relocate my front bumper. It was a pain, but mostly because the PO had a little fender bender.
The tcase shifter also gave me some issues. Inverting the boot and trimming that metal plate near the boot fixed it.
Check out 4crawlers website for super detailed instructions and remedies to almost any problem caused by body lifts.

I've had no issues with my 1 inch BL. I think the Marlin bumpers are going to be a bit trickier to adjust than the stock stuff because the mounting plates are an integral part of the bumper and the bumper attaches directly to the frame. With the stockers, the bumper attaches to a bracket that attaches to the frame, so you have some wiggle room. Here are some pics of how mine looks with a 1 inch BL uncompensated in this thread.

Research this to make sure but I "heard" that the gas tank has holes already in place that would allow it to be raised 2 inches if you do the 2 in BL. I haven't confirmed that myself but I would love to get my gas tank up 2 inches as it is the thing I hang up the most on now. Just something to consider if you are deciding between 1 and 2 inches.
Back to the bumper, if you go 2 inch you could possibly contact Marlin to see if they would send you an extra top tube that you could have welded locally to take up the gap. Then it would look like the All Pro double tube bumper. Don't know the rear bumper well enough to comment.

I had zero issues with my 2" bodylift on my 86 4 runner. I think it was one of the easiest ones I have done.
Took me a total of 4 hours start to finish including the radiator relocation and bumper relocation.
All done with hand tools in the parking lot a block of wood and the stock jack..
It helps it the bolts aren't rusty too. Mine weren't bad at all.
