Blown 3.0 what to do?

Alright guys my mom acquired a 94 V6 2wd 4runner for some reason Im not quite sure. I know it was knocking before she got it and it locked up the other day. Now Im tryin to weigh out the options of what to do to get this thing runnin. It has 233,000 on it so im thinkin I rebuild is gonna be a FULL rebuild to do it right. SO would a swap be better or tryin to find a good rebuilt 3.0. Im tryin to do what would be most cost effective but right. I know right "Good Luck with that" but any opinions are welcome!!!

I'm not sure what a used 3.0 goes for($500 or less?), but if you could find one and confirm that it is running as it should be (maybe it would still be mounted in another truck/4runner) and swap the motor then IMO that would have to be the most cost effective route. I know most of us don't have money falling out of our ears, so that would be my first attempt personally.

Easiest would be to find a running 3.0, and swap it in. But a 3.4 is a better option than Rebuilding that POS. That motor is the biggest pain the butt I have ever worked on, and I only had to deal with the top end. Either put in another used one, or swap it. I wouldn't waste my time on a rebuild.

This just happened to my buddy of mine, we ended up finding a engine with 180,000km for 500$ pulled.. so he got it and i did all the work.. if it locked up, chances are slim to rebuild it anyways..

btw, have fun... you'll be thankful for your 22re while working on the 3.slow

What I did but don't recommend is I puchased a reman motor with the upgraded headgaskets and spent 5000.00 then installed full ome lift all on a 2wd. Then 10k $ later a chick does an illegal in front of me and totals it. Now I'm trying to sell it after the insurance paid me out.

It's in the classifieds here

You would think there would be a whole buttload of people
Here in Cali looking for an amazing donor 2nd gen 4runner?? I think most of the yota enthusiasts are not in southern California. Here immigrants drive them cause they are cheap

How about you pull a low mileage 3.0.... and save the rest for a sas swap ( so you'll have 4x4)
