assuming I can get a color to match good, that's an option

Plumbrbob, I'm using the Formula 88 degreaser on it; I may try the Purple Power if you think it'll work that much better

Thanks guys!

never used formula 88

I used purple power on my engine rebuild I sprayed everything down let it soak for a few minutes then hit it with the pressure washer a few times seemed to get every thing looking almost new took off 30 years of oil build up on my old dirty motor parts

Here is a pic of my recent motor build

Thats a 30 year old timing cover it was oily dirty black before the purple power

I did not get my stuff hot tanked, machine shoped and shined up purdy like yours just used purple power and my handy electric power washer before I built her up on my work bench at home

thanks!

I'd consider the HO head, but this is my DD, so I'd like to keep SOME gas mileage with it, lol

if it was all trail, then most definately the HO head

most call me crazy

i DD my rig i like the feel of the chirping/hoping spooled rear, the body roll from hell, the swamper wobble and howl, and the ill-mannered gas hog I built that lopes at idle.

LOL

lol

well, I want to have some get up and go there when I need it, and I like the idle lope sound too, but I also want to be a able to roll the windows up, turn the AC on, and cruise down the highway effortlessly and smoothly (hince the AT's )

I'm meeting halfway in the middle with this build; it'll look stunning, run and perform great, but will still be very reliable and easy on the wallet at the pumps for the most part we'll see how well that M.O. comes together in a few weeks

Hey Super, I just went to the dealer to get those bolts, they were $1.83ea for the flywheel and $.60ea for the pressure plate. The price might vary for your area but Im just telling you what i paid.

Lookin forward to see your beast all put together and running.

awesome buddy, thanks!

I can't wait till tomorrow I get to place my orders, lol

today I gotta work on the temp-truck, lol. something started rattleing under the truck today on the way home... so when I got home and parked it, I looked uderneither, kick the exhaust, and sure enough that's where it's coming from I've pinpointed it to the cat, so I'm waiting for it to cool down now so I can tighten up whatever bolt has came loose...

it never ends...

pshh, I talked to my father about it (the owner of the truck), and he said it did it once in the past, and eventually quit, lol. he was going to chop the cat off and weld in a peice of pip and be done with it; that's probably what'll happen this time

aite aite sounds good. If you are going to do that, just take it off and beat the honeycomb out of it and weld it back up as it is.

Do you have emissions there?

aha, no I don't, and the rear of it unbolts, so I'll just unbolt it and rip the honeycomb right out!

damn you're smart

thanks!

Lucky! We have that crap here and have to deal with it.

One day after my bro and i were done 4wheeling, my truck had no acceleration or power. Had to pull over and fin out why, turns out the cat was clogged so we unbolted from the down pipe off the manifolds and bolted only one side on so that it was out of the way. Was super loud! when i got home, i had to beat all the honeycomb out of it, then just bolted it back up as a straight pipe until my ebay replacement Magnaflow came in.
