Altezza are ugly and cheesy.

I tinted the signals on my Grand and you could still see them. As long as you use 3 light coats at the most, you'll be fine.

i will admit, i looked for smoked altezzas for my truck before i decided to paint over the stock ones, but came up with nothing, they seem very hard to find for 2nd gen 4runners....

sorry to hear that. Bad luck i suppose. I wrestled me a pair of those "ugly and cheezy" taillights on ebay and found plenty. Wow, it really sucks that those altezza lights are ugly and cheezy .. seriously. I think i should send Mercedes benz, Land Rover, TOYOTA, and Nissan an email ... and let them know that they should check in with yota_tony. Apparently, they are all idiots! putting those cheezy cheap tailights on their 60,000 dollar products.... sheesh what a waste.

Heard of an opinion?

I think even the ones on 60k cars are ugly.
Plus the ones you buy aftermarket are of cheap quality and tend to leak. Why put low quality parts of your vehicle? If I want low quality I'll buy a Chevy.

AGREED... Altezzas that you buy off ebay or anywhere aftermarket look so cheap, I cant believe people are still buying them and putting them on their cars.
And I think there is a huge diffenence between a car (Mercedes, Lexus) that designers opted to have a altezza style light on the back of it, rather than a chevy or a toyota or whatever that isnt supposed to look like a rocketship.

My favorite is the ricers in the Hondas.

I've been asked a few times by those morons when I'm putting some Altezzas on my Civic. Ya...I'll get right on it.

There used to be a website that would list the HP gain for all of the stupid add-on mods that people would do to their ricers... it was like

Small sticker- 2hp
Big sticker- 5hp
Huge Windshield sticker- 10hp
Altezza taillights- 20hp

Maybe this is how I'll speed up my 3vze

Now, I don't mind loud exhausts (I like loud V8s). However it's got to sound good too.

Never heard a rice rocket that sounded good. Just sounds like someone with bad gas.

hey thatnks for all the input guys. i know altezza taillights look gay and honestly im not going for the ricer look. i just have a black toolbox, black tint, black brushguard and other black ☺☺☺☺ and i thought the completely black tailights (not smoked) would look pretty cool. anybody have any pics like that? tony i agree about how most ricers sound but honestly i think srt4s sound badass as well as wrx stis and lancer evos if you count them. the sti sounds like a v8 due to the horizontally opposed boxter engine... so sexy!

Let's remember that all the import "rice" has also been very accepted on alot of domestic brands now too. You know how many Ford and Chevy PUs with altezzas on them there are around here.

thank you senor x-awdriver ... i donno how you guys can go and call TOYOTA gay for putting altezzas stock on their products. Just seems to me that you guys are behind the times. Look , honestly you can have your opinions and so can i, just don't go bashing other people's taste. You can disagree with us all you want, (us meaning toyota, lexus, nissan, infiniti, mercedes benz, ford, chevy, land rover) just don't diss our tastes thats all. You asked for opinions nick 420, the least you can do is be gracious for the posts.

The 4 cyl boxer sounds like a big (600cc plus) single cyl 4 stroke dirt bike, the rumbly, thumpy exhaust note.
Music to my ears.
