I was thinking about this some more. Typically when doing spacers you install the shocks with the vehicle still on jack stands. If so, the suspension is fully extended. If you have a case where the shock is too long, which could cause this, it will install very easily. However, when you lower the truck and suspension compresses and too long of a shock could be limiting up travel.

 

I was actually thinking about this some more myself...doesnt the rear end have way more travel than the front?? If so bottoming out the shocks should be happening in the rear if they were installed front to back by mistake. Man this is annoying me! haha! First thing I do when I get back Im checking the darn things.

 

it sounds like to me when u where putting it back together ur cv joints in the front drive lines came apart and are not in correct, not allowing the front to move up and down like it should, u can tell by the way the boots look, if they are extended out and almost like a ice cream cone and not rippled look. if this is the case u will need to pull the 4 bolts on the top and get them lined up and back in place then re bolt it together.

 

That does make more sense because of the travel thing I said. Ill check them out. Thanks!

 

Well I was finally able to look into it. Seems like the torsion bars were cranked ALL the way. Cranked them down some and it improved things. Wasn't able to loosen them more though because the bolts are kinda rusted/stuck. Ill try to loosen them some more and see how it goes.

 

You may as well buy new bolts and nuts. My Runner had never been driven in the salt belt, never developed any rust when it was driven in the Pacific NW, and when I was trying to fine tune things I'd been living out in the high desert of CA for a couple years, and still sheared both bolts when I was loosening them. Good luck and hopefully just relaxing the bars helps you out.

 

Thats actually good advice...Ill get a couple for sure. This truck is from AZ or some desert state and is now in FL and the things are still ON there!

I guess now the four wheels and tires are next!
