BJ spacers installed (pic)

Tell me what you think. I'm stoked about the outcome, i got the perfect stance i was looking for. Didn't even touch the torsion bars. Still have to install the diff drop, but i'll do that at work and not on my back. Took the sway bar off instead of lowering it. I just need some longer shocks. What would ya'll recomend for shocks? Wish i had money for new wheels... I also added a picture of when it was stock, small tires and fresh wax job!

I used 1992 ford bronco front shocks and 87 Chevrolet truck rear shocks. The bronco shocks are a direct bolt on and are perfect for the BJ spacers. The Chevrolet shocks are slightly different. You must make your own bushing for the lower mount of the shocks. By the way I'm using Monroe shocks from my local NAPA. Costed around 50-70 bucks for all four and seems perfect.

Interesting, i like the price!! Did you have to make bushings for the front and rear, or just rear? and what did you use to make them?? I might have to try this, much better than $200 plus on rancho's

Only the rear will need modified. I just used a knife and cut the original bushing until it was large enough to fit over my bolt. If you look at the specs of those shocks they are perfect for the BJ spacer lift. They have just the right amount of travel.

I'm interested in this. I just put on BJ spacers and need new front shocks for sure. Do the bronco shocks come with new hardware that works? I'm in PA and rust is a real issue. Also, are these for a full size bronco or bronco II??

Sweet. I might try that. Better than extended shocks or spacers.

i work at napa i looked at the specs for the bronco shocks and they are almost 3 inches longer when they are fully compressed. you do not need 1.5 extended shocks for 1.5 spacers becase the distance is not equivilant because the spacers are out at the end of the control arm and the shock isnt. not saying it would not work but i would be careful especially if you have low-pro bumpstops or something because you may overcompress or turn your shock into a pop can.

I have had no issues. My shocks have been on for over a year and yet to this day I have had absolutely no problems. So that's just my opinion. It's your guys truck. You make your own decisions based off the info you gather here lol.

You can get the longer shocks from some of the vendors on here. I used ProComp ES9000's when I did my BJ spacer and add a leaf lift.

I would recommend the bilstein 5100 http://www.shockwarehouse.com
work great for jumping around and give you that extra travel when you need it and make sure you relax your torsion bar to get that smoother ride feel now that you have the height.
