BJ spacers or HD Torsion bars?

Well I know how much everyone like the ball joint spacers on this forum but what about the HD torsion bars from Downey? Anyone running them besides 4x4Nala? I want to buy the Economy kit from Downey that comes with rear springs and front torsion bars but I cant decide if I should go with the BJ spacers instead. Pros and cons? Thanks.

Go with the BJ spacers!

BTW I'm running both, but the downey t-bars are adjusted down to the max and it's still not soft enough and is a little too high. I'm hoping in another few years they will soften up

Did you have to get an alignment after either one of those were installed?

Yes, even just adjusting t-bars will effect your alignment. BJ spacers will really do a number on it.

Another vote for BJ Spacers. Definitely give more travel. Plan on having a pair of big pipe wrenches to adjust out your toe-in so you can drive it to the shop for an aligment. Or just leave the camber alone to get to the aligment shop.

I have read up on both. The T-Bars will make your ride a little stiffer which I can imagine would make for even less articulation offroad. I would have to say that going with the bj spacers would be a better bet.

And my bars, I was 4x4nala, are 25mm from PowerBarz... Downey's are 26mm, so even stiffer. I have my bars pretty loose and I have a ARB bumper and winch, and it could be a little softer, the bars have at leats 65K on them.

I would get the OME 23.4 MM bars, which are just a tad thicker than stock/OEM (22.8 MM). I wouldn't waste my time with any T-bars over 24 mm.

I agree. If I were to do it over I would get those. Even when I had these bars on my 4runner with the winch bumper and winch they were a bit too much. On the reg cab truck the OME's would be perfect. I dont dislike my bars, just dont think I need ones as big.
