a bit more power(22RE)
can any one give me advise on how to make my 22re a bit more power full. i have pacetter headers, knn performance air filter. and now i just need to get my lc enginering cam in. i have 488 gears and runing 34 inch ltb swampers. i just need to get a little more power to go up some hills in colorado cause it struggles. any suggestions will help. o am almost thinking of turbo charging it. and now im getting a roll cage in it so that is going to make it alot heavier.

the 34" ltbs are basically a 33" tall tire. they're one of the few swampers that runs small.
how many miles on your engine? the difference between a fresh rebuild and something with 200k on it is phenominal.

You have done just about all you can except forced induction. I would adivse you against getting overly optimistic about a cam. I put a TRD Stage II in my 95 22RE and all it really did was drop my fuel mileage, and gave me a lope at idle that sounded like a SB chev.
IMO, header and exhaust are best. 2.25" will help with low and high rpm. 2.5 is for high rpm only. Intake helps a little. Gears are huge, but you wont notice enough going from 4.88's to 5.29s to justify it.
Switching back to a radial tire would be the best thing you could do. I went from 33 TSL Bias to 35 BFG mud and it felt like I got 50hp...

Really, maybe a TRD Stage II is more than the ECU can handle, despite what toyota says.
What type of mileage do you get with that? How is the bottom end.

I get 20-21 mpg and thats around town in the hills of MD and PA. When I go out to the shore I can baby it to around 25 mpg. And she's got pull all the way up the rev range. WAY more than stock.
I did a dyno run just prior to the cam swap. I need to get back to the shop to do a post run, then I'll be able to post numbers for improvement.
