Best shocks for stock

I know this has been probably beat like a dead horse, but any suggestions on replacement shocks for stock. Seems someone put Monroe Sensatrak on as replacements. Almost like no shocks on the front, not really, but I think on dips 2 bounces are too much. Advance suggested Bilstein, but I think they may be too stiff. Not interested in off road tuff, so suggest away. Be nice if they made an affordable adjustable front shock. Haven't found any local yet.

Might want to check out this thread.

I probably need some new shocks in the near future too, but I didn't want something as harsh as Bilsteins. Matt (in the attached thread) put Tokico Trek Masters on his and seems to like them. It may be a compromise between what you have and the Bilsteins.

I think he said he bought them on eBay. A set for my truck is selling for $199.00 on there with free shipping. I'm not sure what you want to spend.

Get yourself some Skyjacker Nitros, around $35 each.

I honestly think that unless you're going to be switching to Bilsteins, you might as well stay with the stock OEM Toyota shocks. Bilsteins will give you more response, better control, firmer handling, virtually no body roll, and overall a better ride. They ride awesome on the highway, and offroad you will feel the bumps a little more but that's because these shocks are extremely good at helping keep your tires glued to the road.

The Toyota shocks are good shocks for comfort and ride quality. YOu won't feel the bumps as much as the Bilsteins but you suffer from a little more body roll as a result. A little on the softer side but they give a pretty descent ride and work well with the stock suspension. If you're just going with an OEM look a like/replacement type you might as well stay with OEM.

My opinions of course. I had OEM shocks on my ride before I had my Bilsteins. Each had attributes I appreciated but I love my Bilsteins. Pricey but for what you get damn worth it!
