bent crossmember is it ok?

well wheelign yesterday i took a hard hit on my crossmember from the front. It bent but doesnt seem to have forced the transfer case to move i dont think. I tried to smash it back with a hammer but could only budge it slightly.
On the way home at 45 mph there wasnt any driveling vibration so the drvieshaft/ tcase and everytihhgn couldnt have moved really. But i am wonderign whether or not it is ok to leave it like this?

wow, Welcome to YT! Finally some proof the OEM crossmember is not only a rock magnet but it's also weak. What a piece of crap.

Long as you have no vibrations, then it's fine. Where do you live? I have one for sale. $10 and it's yours. If i were you though, now would be a good time to get a BudBuilt crossmemebr.

ya it was one of the ones that makes you cringe like ones where you get rocks into body panels. But i need to know if its ok to leave it like thta. after looking at it close the thign is pretty crappy quality stamped and it wouldve been alot harder to bend if all the seems were welded which most arnt.

Yeah, mine is bent too, plan on having one hell of a time getting it back on if/when you need to take it off for any kind of maintinence! I need a Budbuilt one...

My suggestion, replace it when you have to take it off for a new clutch or whatever.

Front range off road. Personally, I prefer the style Budbuilt has. Trail-gear and Marlin also offer similar.

There's a stock used crossmember in the YotaTech Southern California warehouse. Same price as from the other distribution centers.

I slid (literally) sweetly over the top of a dirt roadblock (don't worry, it's on my property) on my BudBuilt crossmember/skidplate while testing my new ARB lockers. With the stock xmember I'm sure I would have hung up.

Well bend me over and.....

I won't finish that, but can i say, wow?

You must've whacked something fierce.

Well, time for the ol aftermarket. If you go budbuilt, you will have an outstanding product, though i recomend differnt bolts for the skid plate than the ones they provide. They have a tendancy to jam on and never want to come off.
