Bent axle?

Hello,
New here and wondering if its possible to have bent my axle doing a brake job.

I had to lift the front end up with a floor jack centered on the axle with no jack stands while I performed the work.

I now have a front end shake at 40 to 50mph

My tires aren't balanced however it did not shake before the work was done.

Thank you in advance!

Go back and check over your work your brakes can easily cause that. Rotor might be warped, pads might not be seated correctly, if the only thing you changed was brakes that's more than likely your problem

not very likely to bend an axle that way. Shops lift cars by the axle to do brake and tire jobs everyday. If you didn't put the tires back on exactly as they came off (same stud into same hole on wheel) a tire vibration could easily show up.

This is what I'm leaning towards. I have checked and re checked; the brakes are functioning properly.

There are only two bolts and two wire clips (each side) all installed properly, pads are seated and the rotors are as new.

Sorry I didn't include the year it was late last night when I posted. It is an 85 long bed 4x4 22re standard package with unbalanced 31" AT radials.

As I said it didn't shake before the work however I did not take note of the position of the tires on the lugs so they did go back on differently. Can that really make a difference?

It only shakes at speeds from 40mph to 50mph and then at deceleration within the same range. This sounds like a tire balance issue to me.

Please feel free to tell me I'm wrong and why! What could I have possibly done wrong to cause this issue?

More idea's?
Thank you!
