He said he "swapped" the battery & intake box, so the battery has to be no the other side. Have you tried a PM to the author? (click on his name in the thread).

Can't be that hard...shortening up the intake hoses, shortening/lengthening some wiring...might have to do some welding, drilling/tapping to move the battery, but still not hard. Not sure what the huge gains would be regardless. My bet would be that you'd lose both the OEM windshield washer bottle and the radiator overflow and/or have to modify them as well.

I've moved my battery to the other side for my 3.0 to 3.4 swap. ORS sold me a new battery tray to weld in, the radiator overflow bottle still fits in it's original location. Here's a pic: http://community.webshots.com/photo/...42310107YjEESU

I did mine in my 22re. All I had to buy was a couple of battery cables/wires in order to extend the wires and move it to the right side. Get some tiewraps to tie the cables on whatever you can. You can run them on top of the fan...keep them away from the belts! It's really not very hard at all.
Actually, right now my battery is just sitting in there where the air box used to be...lol....not really welded/bolted in or anything. You can just improvise a way to keep it down.
