The other day I tried to adjust my torsion bars hoping to even my front end out (it leans about 1 inch on the driver side and rubs severely at full lock).Both of the adjuster bolts seemed to be at the same height.When I went to tighten it the nut turned,no surprise there.My question is will new bolts fix this?Or do I need new torsion bars?I really don't want to spend too much money on new torsion bars because I plan on doing a sas in the future.I drove for a while with a broken shock on the drivers side so thats probably what caused it.Is there anything else I can do to get that side raised up an inch w/out buying new torsion bars?

if you didn't strip the bolt you can hold it still with a wrench on the top

It is possible that there just isnt enough resistance on the spring to keep the nut spinning?? Soak it in blaster overnight, then put a wrench on it, and pray. I broke one on my 95 trying to get my 92's bars into it. The bolt/nut combo isnt expensive if it breaks.

I soaked it twice,but my crappy adjustable wrench didn't hold to well so I need to get a wrench to fit it.It is a 22mm isn't it? Everytime I work on this truck I have to buy a new metric tool.It seems everything is bigger than 19mm.

I usually cheat and use the closed standard size....

Ditto with 4x4nala... they typically fit pretty close to the same sizes... maybe with just a tiny bit of play in it... Havent stripped one yet...

Whats that make it about a 7/8? It seems like I've "misplaced" all my wrenches over 3/4 of an inch and I have 3 of every size below it.

I like the idea of buying new tools, I just tell my wife I have to go to Sears to pick up some yard "Fertilizer" yeah thats it.

I sometimes do that myself. Isn't it funny how many import owners, where basically everything is metric, do not own metric tools? I think it is a conspiracy of some sort, but I cant quite put my finger on it.

That being said, 2 wrenches/sockets should be your key.

Just go own a chevy for a few repairs and you will own every thing standard/metric talk about not making sence....

Good point, as simple as it sounds, I have known lots of people to adjust them with it on the ground...It can be done but isn't easy....

Yes after working on/owning a few ls1's I can attest to that. It just seems like I always need the 20mm on up for the toyota.And yes I did have the front off the ground.
