Bad sound in 4wd....HUBS?
Took the pickup out to pop its wheelin cherry ;-) She did GREAT! BUT...I have a small problem. When I engaged the front hubs/4wd (Pretty new WARNs) and drive it, it makes a horrible grinding/binding sound. Cant tell where its coming from. Almost sounded like its coming from under the cab, but im unsure. As soon as I dissingage the hubs/4wd, it goes away. And just so you know what I put my truck through....

Put it up on stands and in 2wd and lock the hubs and spin tires. Check for noise. If so then it is in your hubs or front axle. Check it in 4wd with the hubs free. Otherwise a u joint in your d shaft.
Get some Aisins and ditch the inferior WARN hubs.

grease is easy
well its pretty simple in terms of greasing... just make sure you do it pretty well every time you go through deep mud water or really dust areas.
on the driveshafts every joint except the double cardans (where the front driveshaft enters the transfer case) gets lithium grease and the double cardans get moly keep the slip yokes greased and the u joints maintained as well as checking the ball joints occasionally and you should be good. if your bad sound is under the cab its probably a u joint jack up the front and try to spin the front shaft by hand and see if it binds, also look to see if the ujoint cap is popped off
good luck , and nice rig!
