Bad Injector?
Hey guys. Does anybody know how to tell if I have a bad injector? I have a very rough idle problem right now. I checked the tps, checked my timing and made sure my idle was correct. I pulled each spark plug wire to check for spark, all of them spark but when I pull the third plug wire the idle did not change at all. When I pulled the rest the truck almost cut off. Then I checked the connections for each injector they are all broken but are connected. I took off the one from the third cylinder and cleaned it then put it back. Still no change, so i disconected while the truck was running, it didn't make a difference. Is there anyway to make sure its the injector? Also to pull the injectors how should I do it? Is there a write up? Thanks guys!

You can ghetto test them by adding 12Volts across the terminals and seeing if you hear them CLICK this wont tell you the spray patern tho.
You are best off taking them out and have them flow tested and cleaned.

Remove Upper intake, Remove fuel rail. REPLACE the O-Ring and gasket on the bottom of the injectors when you replace them
Best pick I have Look for the red connectors

4hummer is right. Mine was missing on #4, it was the o ring on the injector. I found it by sraying carb cleaner on the bottom of the injector and it smoothed off for a couple of seconds. I would change all four while you had it apart.

Ok i bought a new/ remaned injector. I pulled everything apart and have installed it. I put everything back together and it did not seem to help. I still think I am not getting fuel to the third cylinder. Is it possible to not get enough fuel to only the third injector? Is there a way to test the wires that are going to the 3rd injector to see if the proper signal is getting there? Could the rail be clogged?

Well I'll check the compression and valve lash that seems to be the only things left. But I really hope not because this motor is a jasper I put in less than 15k ago. Thanks guys I'll post my findings...

ok, I checked the compression and it is right below 180 like 178. So that is fine any other suggestions? With the engine running I pulled the #1 plug wire and let it run for 30 seconds, I then turned the truck off. I pulled the first plug and it was clearly wet. I did this same procedure with the 3rd cylinder and the plug was dry. Also when the truck idles in park you can tell it is missing but only slightly. When in drive it misses severly, you can feel the truck jerking.???????

you said you pulled the third plug wire and nothing changed, are you getting sprak to the 3rd wire? hold it near the engine and see if it arcs, or get a buddy to hold it....if you can find one dumb enough. lol.
