Bad clutch cause Head gasket to fail??

Mechanic says my clutch was slipping causing computer to lean out injectors and burned up between two cylinders. this possible?

o ya and supposedly two injectors were junk so they were all reworked.

Could the o2 sensor be to blame or something else? I want to make sure this doesn't happen again.

Now I am putting in a new MC clutch, shifter bushings, and master and slave cylinder. What kind of fluid should I use for the clutch cylinder??

ok... dude... put down the crackpipe... lmao! i had never heard that one before... thats a good one to use to mess with someone... ok heres the breakdown. the computer has no idea about the clutch, its concerned with the engine. my clutch is covered in oil, yet throws no codes. the clutch slipping does NOT cause the computer to lean out the injectors. use DOT-3 or 4 fluid in it. synthetic if possible. and do a compression check in all cylinders, supposed to be around the 160-170ish range. oh, one more thing: get a new mechanic, this dilweed obviously was trying to get more money out of you.
hows does the truck run? does it misfire, idle really weird, no power, etc?

first i had a bad spark plug that melted due to a bad helicoil, so i burned an exhuast valve cyl #3. had all the head work redone. one month later my head gasket between #1 and 2 burns through to each other on my way up to the mountains. in the middle of the nite with no cell service so i kept going, sounded like a rod knock. found later to be the HG, now mech says the something that the slippin clutch is makin the engine work more or something and causing it to overheat or something and letting the computer lean it out. i dont know, it sounds strange and i don't want my truck to have any more issues, so what else should i check. cuz i dont want to spend anymore money fixing it.

seems to run ok now but waiting to get a clutch before i drive it.

Well, like Ozzy said, the computer has no idea the clutch is there.

Our trucks are not capable of leaning out the engine from sensing a clutch slipping.

As for your HG, shotty hg, overheating (make sure your cooling system is in tip top shape), possible past bad workmanship.

What else has this mechanic done on your ride?

I had a V6 4runner for ONE day. The clutch started slipping and then the rad sprung a leak when it overheated. Neither had ever happened before according the AA.

after loling a bit...
you had a headgasket blow and then they found two bad injectors... my guess is the two bad injectors leaned the mixture out which caused the hg to blow.
the only thing I see the clutch being able to contribute to is the excessive slippage causing higher rpms

Well I have heard that once the temp guage gets to its normal position, it won't move any hotter till it gets 30 degrees hotter.

But that might be false, but they are known not to be the most accurate..
