Woops! Meant to type Marty. haha. IDK needles had alot more weight with his friends and running an automatic tranny. I think it wouldve been a close race actually.

This piece never came in is because it is discontinued and none of the junk yards in our area have any used bed sides. There are aftermarket companies that make this piece, however I need some input. If I was to go aftermarket, who do I go with or do I just let my guy pick one?

Regardless this piece would have to be cut, fitted and welded.

Thoughts???

I have a guy I found in CO during my hunt for my "new to me 86 rig", if you let me know precisely what he is after he may be able to get it for you quickly and at a fair price. Thats idea # 1, others will prolly chime in soon.

Seems cheap enough, I'm weird, would prefer all original as much as I can. But If I had to replace it all, maybe go all fiberglass, saves weight maybe idk, less dents hehe.. Will check with my guy and see what he tosses back.

I agree. I'd rather use all OEM stuff, but If I have to go aftermarket, then so be it.

The one in carid looks like what i'm looking for. I heard bad reviews here from wolf/alpha and not sure if toyota fiberglass makes that specific part. I don't need to whole bed or anything.

I appreciate your help ingenuitor!

Hole has been filled

Passenger side corner done

Working on the roof

As for that smashed-in corner. My buddy went ahead with wolf steel (alpha parts) and is awaiting a tracking number.

Now once that piece comes in they can cut it weld it and match it to perfection. It is not until they get that done first so next they can move the bed for prepping.

We are now technically in July which marks 3 months since they had the truck. I know there is a lot of work and talking to my buddy this morning he didn't realize just how much was needed to get done. All those dings, filling and sanding ect ect. Be patient as will I. There were some set backs during the process but hey, it just makes me more excited to see Jennifer once she is all done.

Hang tight

Tires Tires Tires

O.k so I got the 94-5860P (http://www.summitracing.com/parts/usw-94-5860p) which is a 15x8 rim with a 4.75 offset. As I think about it, I might as well get matching tires. Goodyear Wrangler Radials

The current tires sitting on the rims are 31x10.5x15. I do not think goodyear makes this size for that tire (265/75/15).

http://backtothefuture.wikia.com/wiki/Toyota_Hilux

The tires closest to size I found are 235/75R-15 which are smaller by 2 inches. Would this make any difference?

Is that a crunched front fender?

[edit]

Nevermind, I just found a video... just an awkward reflection.

I was worried you were going to have to crease your fender to be authentic!

**** This week on One life to Rig ****

Narrator:
Anticipation grows as Jennifer go through surgery. Will she make it? People are talking how she is not going to make it, but will she? Not enough answers are being addressed ....

Scene (the body shop)

Doctor: O.k, Jennifers top is done. It was quite the sand down but we are done.
Owner: Does it look natural? How does it feel doc?
Doctor: Nice and smooth bro. Nice and smooth.

Doctor: Since her top is done, we manage to get that tailgate back to the way it was suppose to be.
Owner: Was it that bad doc?
Doctor: Lets just say we gave her tailgate reconstructive surgery.
Owner: So it looks new?
Doctor: Like new, if you know what I mean.

Narrator:
Stay tuned next week for Jennifers surgery update. What will happen next week? Will she get colored in areas where shes never been colored before? Will more sanding go on. What else can happen? Who knows?

Stay tuned ......
