Axle rubbing on Gas Tank!!

Axle rubbing on Gas Tank!!
so i just went wheeling the other day and at the end of the day i notice some leaking coming for the rear of the 4runner,i guess when i was flexin out my rear axle rubs on the gas tank,and it above the gas tank skid plate, it ended up bending the gas tank in and crackin it,i put some jb weild on and its holding but i wondering what i can do so my axle doesnt rub, i have 3in suspension lift, any one have this problem?

Do you mean driveshaft? That will rub due to longer shack allowing the panhard rod to pull the axle over to the passenger side when the passenger-side rear tire is stuffed and the driver side tire is fully drooped. A "panhard drop" kit will solve this and run about $50.

Thats your problem right there. Get a panhard drop bracket, and put some freakin bolts in there. Good lord, I'm impressed that you haven't ripped the link brackets off the axle yet. Better check for some bending to be sure.

Zip ties, eh? So, if one were to say, NOT have a panhard bar with a coil sprung suspension, what could possibly happen. I only ask 'cause apparentally it needs to be explained...

At best, this will result in the rear end not tracking straight, kinda wallowing around.
It could reasonably be expected to wear/break your pinion as the driveshaft is now taking load it isn't designed for.
At worst, you break a link or a link mount and lose the axle fron under the truck while driving, causing a potentially fatal accident.

You want to keep the panhard rod roughly parallel to the ground, since it is fixed to the frame at the passenger side, the more angle it is at the more it pulls the axle (and driveshaft) to the passenger side:

its been thru alot,well i just put in a bolt and flexxed it and it still hits the gas tank!!!!!and i do have a panhard drop" kit on it and i do not have coil spacers

If zip ties are holding you axle to the panhard, or the panhard to the frame, then you should stop modifying your truck and get someone else to do it. Better pay a shop than hurt someone because you took critical suspension components out of the equation.
In the pic, it looks like the LSPV arm is attached to the panhard with zip ties, but the rest is bolted together properly. Do my eyes deceive me?

This is why I went double triangulated ... to get rid of the damn side-to-side shift from the panhard bar ... f course, my gas tank was already moved before then ...
At this point, I agree with the above, you need to check and see if something is bent (taking it in to an alignment shop should highlight it quick), and then start trimming gas tank skid out of the way. If it still rubs after that, you probably need limit straps.

....your axle should never come close to contacting your gas tank??????????? unless its been moved by you or a different person???
