Hey, I was looking at this imported Hilux online, and apparently it has an "axle over lift". What the heck is that?? Also, nice diesel hilux, do you think its actually worth $16000 CAD?

couple of things that it said that it didnt have it doesnt have a "roll cage" it has a roll bar and the "over axle lift" never heard of that for jeeps i know you can do a spring over axle lift but never on a toyota that maybe what they are talking about in the rear maybe not to sure though

 

I think whoever looked the truck over didn't know what they're talking about. Jeeps and Land cruisers had the springs mounted to the underside of the axle, thus to put the spring over the axle added lift. Not possible on our trucks they are "over axle" already.

 

Muddpig said it! Toyota trucks come with the leaf springs "over" or on top of the axle already.

But to answer your ?, i dont think its worth quite that much 16,900 cad sounds ok, maybe a bit high, but i'm not a good judge of that sort of thing. how bad do you want it? diesels are nice, make good power and have good mpg (ohhh wait kpl ?). (rambling done)

 

Haha, I knew it allready had the spring over the axle, I guess thats what the dude meant. The dealer its at mostly specializes in importing super tuned supras and stuff like that. At the same place I can get a Land cruiser with SFA and 6 inch lift with 37s and the 4.2 turbo diesel for $14000, so thats would I would probably get instead.

Yeah, I think its false advertizing...but it sure is a nice truck (would be nicer with SFA!!)
