automatic to manual tranny swap
Hello- This is my first post although I have been looking around the site for a long time. I am wondering if anyone on here has ever done a tranny swap or knows of anyone who has. I have a 92 4Runner automatic and I want to swap in a 5 speed? Any help in this matter would be appreciated! By the way it is the 3.slow. Thanks

It's not to bad. You can do it in 2 days max. Do a search for it on here and you should get a link that will give you some good info. You may need the manual tranny's rear driveshaft cause I believe it's 2 inches longer. Good Luck!

When you do your swap try to get as many things from the same year or around the same year truck as possible. I reused my auto crossmember. Use the search button.

The transmission itself is relatively easy. It's the pedal assembly and the clutch cylinder and plumbing that are the pita. It's all basically a bolt in, but its a lot of work.
