Asking to be certain - '94 pickup voltage regulator (2wd).

Hey all,

I have a 1994 pickup (22RE, 2WD, no power steering), my radio and cigarette plug inverter started hootin' for high voltage (15-16v) and there was a screeching sound about when it occurred.
A new alternator is on the way just in case, as I have already committed the Cardinal Sin of replacing my OEM alternator, unless it had already been replaced, I didn't pay attention, I didn't know, I told my truck I'm sorry already.

Basically, is the alternator bad, does this model use an alternator that has a built in voltage regulator, or is there a voltage regulator somewhere I'm just too dumb to find?
I follow the wires leading out and they go to what looks like the ignition system, having been routed under the air box, and to ground on the engine.

The only other extra things I have attached are a winch (i get stuck in the driveway sometimes &#128528 and some dinky LED lights I'm about to take off anyway from dry rot.

The voltage regulator is in the Alternator (the small white wire is the "Sense" wire for that purpose.) http://web.archive.org/web/201102051.../2onvehicl.pdf Spec is 13.9-15.1v
Before I bought a "new" alternator I would have the old one tested. 15-16v isn't that much over the 15.1v limit.
