Anyone running with a Utility Rack?
Anyone running a utility rack on their rig. I’d like to see some pictures of some examples. I really want to know if it would be functional or not.

You mean like an over head storage on top of the cab or like a ladder rack? I might be reading more into it than you intended.
If you mean overhead storage like a Baja rack then I don't know if anyone has done it on a pickup since the mounting surface on the top of the cab is rather small.

I would like to make something for my shell i'd like to go for the expedition vehicle look. I would probably use 1x1 square aluminum tube
I'll draw one up on MS Paint
Edit: Here we are... it looks like a work rack but when its on the truck it should look more like a cargo rack on an expedition vehicle (It's gonna have all rounded edges and finished welds should look clean)

Oh you meant a ladder rack lol... I had a home made one on my old 87 that was very useful I built it so I could tarp over it conestoga style and it worked very well. It did'nt hurt the fuel econ. very noticeably [except when tarped lol]. My cousin's daughter liked to use it for Gymnastic gear and or Monkey bars [when parked I'm not that redneck that I'd let her back there going down the road lol].
All in all I'd say very useful but folks may think you're a roofer/overhead door repair man.

Not mine, but I've always really like to look of this one. I like the built in basket.

I used to carry several 100' of EMT and/or Rigid conduit +ladders up on mine... top heavy? maybe but nothing you could'nt get used to... on a trail with lots of off cambers and side hills might be a problem.....
