Ok, So I have a 1986 turbo runner. I have put in a new altinator, New battery and cables grounds are all clean, no air leaks. I gets fuel plenty of spark and so now I'm at a loss. The truck will start up and run fine until you start driving it. Pretty much when stopping, you have to put it in nuetral and rev it to 1k rpms. If you drive it like that it's fine but if it's left in gear as you stop it dies. Any ideas? Oh and yes it is an auto. Cliff

 

at what RPM does the engine idle when warmed up in neutral?

or just bump up the idle that might work

i bet your happy you said its an auto at the last word lol i would have said try putting the clutch in lol

 

Oh one other symptom, After starting and driving her a few times, the next time I do a cold start there's nothing there. But she'll start with jumpers.

 

She idles at 600.
