With this thing I gotta keep a good attitude, otherwise I'd have sold it already. Gonna double check the wiring harness one more time then look into pulling the alternator apart and checking it. I gotta know what's physically wrong.

Maybe I'm just crazy and it's all in my head...

If you can pull it apart enough to get to the built in diodes, maybe you can solder in a new one? I know the OLD stuff was repairable like that, but no clue for Toyota's. I kept a bad alt around somewhere from a 22re just encase you can buy the new board somewhere down the road. It was a no charge situation, and another used alt fixed the problem. I never drove the truck afterwards though, so no clue about the draw. It was going to be transplanted into a 1st gen 4runner till I got a 2.7L and all the factory style parts to make it work in the 4runner . About the only thing I'll have to make is the engine mounts and deal with the wiring.

Keeping positive in everything you do makes life so much better. I've been doing that since 7th grade. I had a huge temper before then, and my dad did too till he copied me about 5 years later and also quit drinking at the same time.
